The left hand image is the outer cover of a bound collection of theological "sentences," dated, in a much later hand, 1404. Incipit: Primus liber sententiarum. Folio 240: Explicit quartus liber Principium...scriptum Wyenne Ano Dni Mmo quadracentesimo quarto... explicit: ...ex flammis profuit salamandra. Nizhni Novgorod 1308. The outer cover, which is not annotated in the catalogue, is a Hebrew manuscript, identified as being from the introduction to Moses Maimonides' Guide of the Perplexed. This manuscript is tentatively identified as 14th century and Italian in origin.
